Kahoot! is an app and website that allows you to administer quizzes, discussions or surveys. It is a game based classroom response system played by the whole class in real time. Multiple-choice questions are projected on the screen. Students answer the questions with their smartphone, tablet or computer.
The teacher needs an account at kahoot.com. After logging in, the teacher can search for and edit an existing game or create one of their own from scratch. When they start a game, a game pin is created. Students use the game pin to join the game. Students can run play games on their own or start group games using the iOS app. =
Students compete against the class. They earn points by answering questions correctly and quickly. The top 5 are displayed on the teacher screen throughout the game. You get a report at the end of the game. You can download the report as a spreadsheet. It may be difficult to connect pseudo names to actual students.
