What is iMovie?

iMovie is an iPad app for creating and editing video. Combine video, images, and music to create videos. Create short movie trailers using the iMovie trailer templates.

How do you use the app?

When you create a movie, you will be prompted to choose between a standard iMovie project or an iMovie Trailer project. Trailers are easy to build by using templates, but they do not allow for the same amount of flexibility as an iMovie project. To create a trailer, you simply add images or video to designated places in the timeline and change the template text to create your video.

An iMovie project allows you to edit the length of time that your video or images will be displayed. Add images and video from your camera roll or directly from other apps. Clips will be displayed in the timeline and can be edited by dragging on the ends to change the length of the clip or using the menu at the bottom of the screen. You can apply the Ken Burns effect to an image which adds motion as it pans across the still image.

How do students share their projects?

Press done when you have completed your project. Tap on the share arrow to save your video to the camera role. Audio projects like podcasts can be exported your files, other apps, or cloud storage like Google Drive.
