What is Quizizz?

Quizizz is a fun multiplayer quiz game that allows students to practice content together. Students can play quizzes assigned by their teachers or compete globally on live games. Climb the leaderboard, unlock avatars and customize your game with cool themes, music and memes! Play live, or assign for homework.

What is set-up like?

The teacher creates an account at quizziz.com (may use Google account). Teachers can find and edit an existing quiz or create one of their own from scratch. Students download the Quizizz app and are able to adjust settings for their app (including “Read Aloud”). If the quiz is played live, the teacher starts it. You can customize game play by turning on or off advanced settings like question shuffle, show answers, timer, leaderboard, and Power-ups. Power-ups are awarded sparatically and benefit the players like getting a second chance, unlimited time or 2x the points. Power ups will not work with games of 50+ players. A quiz can also be assigned as homework to be completed by the student at any time. When any game is started, a game pin is generated. Students use the game pin to join the game. Students can join through an app, or on the web.

There are three game modes: classic, team, and test. In team mode, students work individually, but scores are combined to make winning a team effort. Test mode removes the gaming aspects of the quiz and could be used to deliver a multiple choice style assessment. Test mode requires students to login.

What type of data feedback is available?

Students compete against the class. They earn points by answering questions correctly and quickly. Real time data is collected by the teacher. At the end of the game you get a report that is archived in your account.
